S. Robert Landow specializes in commercial property loss consulting and public insurance adjustments, along with being a public adjuster for large residential property loss.
S. ROBERT LANDOW ("Bob") is the Founder and Managing Member of MLA Claims, one of the nation’s most accomplished property loss consulting and public insurance adjusting firms. In 1994, he founded Main Line Adjustment Company, Inc., and grew the firm at an average top-line rate of 50% for more than a decade. In 2007, MLA Claims, LLC was formed through a strategic merger. After three years of managing some of the highest profile and largest claims in North America, Bob acquired full ownership of the firm. He used this opportunity to focus on developing internal talent, expanding MLA’s geographic reach and service capabilities. MLA’s team has handled claims across the US and in at least 8 different countries. In 2020, Bob promoted one of his protégés, James Rode, to Partner and Director of Residential Claims.
Bob has extensive experience in large-scale commercial property and business interruption losses arising from catastrophic events including collapses, earthquakes, explosions, fires, floods, hurricanes, wildfires, windstorms / tornados, winter storms and viruses. He represents a diverse client base ranging from homeowners, including celebrities, to small businesses to municipalities and institutions to Fortune 500 companies. Over the course of his career, Bob has successfully adjusted residential, commercial property, and business interruption / extra expense claims exceeding $2 billion.
Licensed as a public insurance adjuster in 35 states and jurisdictions, Bob is known for his approach to complex claims, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to navigate challenging insurance coverage issues and negotiations on behalf of policyholders. Bob was at the forefront in evaluating, strategizing, and resolving complicated stucco claims. His accomplishments distinguish him as a leader in the public adjusting field including these differentiating achievements:
Settled claims after 25 hurricanes
Adjusted $1 billion in hurricane related claims
Compiled $750 million in healthcare related property losses
Negotiated hundred of millions of dollars in flood, sprinkler, and fire claims

A dedicated philanthropist, Bob volunteers his time and/or is a benefactor to The Baldwin School, Jack Barrack Academy, Simon’s Heart, Lower Merion Little League, Chaos Fastpitch Organization, United Policyholders, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia (JFGP). In recognition of his community leadership, he received the Myer & Rosaline Feinstein Young Leadership Award by the JFGP in 2013.
Bob earned a B.S. in Consumer Economics from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. He also received a Certified Property Appraiser and Umpire designation and has professional associations with NAPIA, FAPIA, RIA, and IAUA.
